Cyprian Marona has refined a restrained and observational approach to narrative filmmaking. With guidance from Eliza Hittman and ongoing mentorship from Matías Piñeiro on a featurette in progress, his work centers on duration, silence, and the slow shift of intimacy over time.

Raised in Chicago, Marona now lives and works in New York. He studied at Pratt Institute, where he developed a practice rooted in quiet observation and an interest in how environments shape behavior.

His mid-length film Thumper, currently in post-production, follows two men living together in rural New Hampshire, where tenderness and unease coexist, and a shared routine begins to fracture as a storm approaches. The film extends his exploration of isolation, control, and intimacy.

He is currently developing new work while applying for writing fellowships and grants, and exploring MFA programs.
